Description
Ancho chile is a key ingredient in the well known Mexican dish mole poblano, and has many other culinary applications in soups, stews, pizzas or on popcorn. It can be used as a spice rub or as a glaze when mixed with honey.
Ancho chile is the dried version of the poblano chile pepper which originates from the state of Puebla in Mexico, and is one of the most commonly used dried chiles in Mexican cuisine. The whole dried pepper is heart shaped and about 7-10 mm long with a deep, reddish brown colour.
