Bentonite clay has a negative charge, so can draw out and bind to heavy metals and other toxins, allowing the body to expel them, while simultaneously providing minerals which help nourish and alkalize the terrain. It can also be used externally to provide similar cleansing and detoxing actions.

Product Description

Ingredients: Calcium Bentonite clay, Pharmaceutical grade

Country of Origin: USA

Qualities: Bentonite clay is formed from the weathering of volcanic ash, then carefully mined to keep impurities out. The clay is subsequently kiln-dried, milled, and screened to a very fine powder. It is silica-based and colloidal in nature, meaning the particles suspend in liquid without breaking down or dissolving, and therefore do not get digested. Holding a high concentration of minerals such as silica, magnesium, iron, sodium, calcium, and potassium, Bentonite clay is widely used for both internal and external uses for detoxes and cleansing. It is fairly unique in that it holds an electrical charge when in contact with liquid, therefore binding itself to other molecules, removing stains from hard surfaces and pulling toxins from a human body.  Because of these properties, you’ll find it in some of our products, including Tooth Powder, Dubh Toothsoap, and Soothing Skin Powder.  It has also been known to stabilize gut bacteria, and settle the stomach after vomiting or diarrhea.

How to use internally (For internal cleansing, to soothe digestive problems, or to ward off morning sickness): Combine 1/2 to 1 teaspoon in a cup of water (in a glass jar with a plastic lid) and shake until well incorporated. Be sure to drink enough water throughout the day.

External use: For a purifying homemade facial mask, combine clay with honey or water until they become a paste, and apply generously to your face avoiding the eye area. Leave on for 10-20 minutes and gently wash off with lukewarm water and your skin will thank you! You can also add ½ a cup to a hot bath. Our bentonite clay is pure pharmaceutical grade, meaning it is safe to take internally (beware of cheaper versions elsewhere, which are for external use only).

A small yummy connection

YUM ↔ YAM — Anahata, the heart chakra, is traditionally represented by a twelve-petaled lotus and associated with the seed mantra YAM (yam). YUM and YAM are not the same word, but the sound echo offers a fitting little connection to heart, nature and community.

A gentle synthesized meditation drone to accompany the spoken YAM mantra; not a traditional fixed chakra frequency.
