Castor oil (Ricinus communis) is also referred to as Palma Christi (Latin for “the palm of Christ” – derived from castor oil’s ability to heal wounds and cure ailments). It boasts an impressive array of cosmetic and therapeutic properties: it is a natural and powerful topical inflammation-attenuating agent, an emollient, rich in vitamin E and ricinoleic acid, and it protects against free radicals. It moisturizes and increases the microcirculation of the skin. It helps protect against allergies, puncture wounds, cuts, and bruises. Helps speed the healing of sprains and muscle pain, effective in helping relieve tendonitis, and can be helpful in treating blepharitis (inflammation around the eyelid) (Muntz et.al, 2021), and dry eye (Maissa, 2010). Also beneficial in reducing skin-aging and wrinkling, and is effective in relieving the discomfort of bee stings and insect bites. Taken internally, ORGANIC castor oil is traditionally used as a laxative (Clementi et. al, 2015) (Yang et al, 2005) (Our castor oil is recommended for external use; internal use would be at your own discretion and risk.)
