Provita NADH

What is it?

NADH+ is a synergistic blend high potency Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NADH, also known as Coenzyme 1), Coenzyme Q10 and Clorophyll.

NADH is a naturally occurring coenzyme found in all living cells which is necessary for cellular development and energy production.

NADH increases energy production (ATP) at cellular level including the brain, increasing mental clarity, alertness and improving memory and focus. It may also improve symptoms associated with lack of energy, fatigue, senility.

Did you know?

A journal review analyzed nutritional supplement effectiveness in adults with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. After evaluating 17 supplements in 26 clinical trials with 3,273 total subjects, only two nutrients were found to consistently help with chronic fatigue: NADH and Magnesium.

DRAFT New Roots Selenium

Selenium increases the levels of glutathione peroxidase, which helps to reduce lipoperoxidation. Selenium may improve energy levels and help in the process of aging by attacking free radicals. Areas of the world that have low levels of selenium in the soil have been found to have increased rates of cancer and heart disease, suggesting that selenium has a cancer-protective effect. It also assists in the conversion of thyroid hormone into its active form. Selenium is needed for pancreatic function and tissue elasticity. It is essential for reproduction; some studies have shown that selenium deficiency results in infertility. Sperm cells contain high amounts of selenium. Considerable amounts are lost during sexual intercourse; for this reason, selenium necessity is higher in men than women.

DRAFT New Roots Purge Parasitis

Parasites are organisms that produce toxic waste inside our body and compete against our own cells for resources and energy. Food and resources get consumed by parasites, making them stronger, rather than by our own cells, which become weaker.

Infections can occur while travelling to exotic lands or by eating undercooked meats or contaminated fruits and vegetables, all of which can be a source of parasites. Animals can also be a breeding ground for parasites. People with a toxic terrain or who are on immunosuppressive drugs are also at a higher risk of infection.

Some warning signs that you may be infected with parasites can include constipation, diarrhea, gas and bloating, irritable bowel syndrome, skin problems, allergies, insomnia, sore joints and muscles, nervousness, granulomas, anemia, teeth grinding, and chronic fatigue.

Synthetic drugs do exist to remove parasites; however, each drug kills only one or two types of parasites and has unwanted side effects. Eliminating multiple parasites would require multiple types of drugs, increasing the toll on the body, with all the side effects.

Our 12 powerful traditional antiparasitic herbs can rid up to 57 different parasites. These powerful antiparasitic herbs have no major side effects and don’t interact with drugs.

DIRECTIONS OF USE

Adults: Take 3 capsules three times daily with food or as directed by your health-care practitioner. Take for 15 days. Stop for 5 days. Repeat for 15 days. If you are taking supplements containing iron, zinc, calcium, or copper, take this product a few hours before or after them. To remove dead or dying parasites, take Psyllium fibre 1 or 2 times a day with 2 Acidophilus ultra capsules.

Contains no: Gluten, soy, wheat, eggs, dairy, yeast, preservatives, artificial flavour or colour, or sugar.

Cautions and warnings: For adult use only. Do not exceed recommended dose. Consult a health-care practitioner if symptoms persist or worsen. Consult a health-care practitioner prior to use if you are taking any prescription medication; if you have a kidney disorder; if you are taking licorice root or any other medication or health product which may aggravate electrolyte imbalance; if you have faecal impaction or symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or fever; if you have blood pressure problems; if you are taking thiazide diuretics or corticosteroids; if you are taking cardiac medications (e.g. cardiac glycosides or antiarrhythmic medications); if you have diabetes; if you are taking blood thinners or protease inhibitors; if you have a seizure disorder (e.g. epilepsy). Reduce dose or discontinue use if you experience abdominal pain, cramps, spasms and/or diarrhea. Consumption of goldenseal with alcohol, other medications, and/or natural health products with sedative properties is not recommended. Discontinue use if you experience gastrointestinal upset.

DRAFT New Roots Liquid

DMSO is the common name for dimethylsulfoxide; this unique compound has therapeutic properties that allow for accelerated crossing of tissue membranes, with the skin in particular. For topical use, this hybrid compound delivers intense, targeted relief from the acute pain and inflammation of arthritis. It also bears long-term benefits with improved fibrin formation, the clotting process essential to wound healing, and better microcirculation, critical for the function of all organ systems. DMSO is a robust antioxidant, with the ability to stabilize cell membranes and protect them from free-radical damage. It reduces leakage from injured cells and destroys free radicals that provoke inflammation. This organic form of sulfur may also serve to promote cartilage formation; wear-and-tear of cartilage is among the primary causes of osteoarthritis. DMSO has been extensively studied for conditions of weight-bearing joints, including those involving cartilage deterioration of the knee (gonarthritis). A double-blind, placebo-controlled study displayed a reduction for pain intensity, both at rest and when exposed to pressure. Use of DMSO can definitely improve the quality of life for those suffering from joint pain and limited range of motion. The most commonly reported side effect with DMSO is garlic breath and a distinctive body odour; a small price to pay considering the wealth of benefits.

DIRECTIONS OF USE Adults: Apply 8–12 ml on affected area three times daily or as directed by your health-care practitioner. Make sure the affected area is thoroughly cleansed before application. Wash your hands before and after application. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes; if this happens, rinse thoroughly with water. For external use only.

Cautions and warnings: Consult a health-care practitioner prior to use if you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you have severe liver or kidney disease. Consult a health-care practitioner if symptoms persist or worsen, or if irritation persists. Discontinue use if skin irritation develops. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes; if this happens, rinse thoroughly with water. A garlic-like taste or smell may be present on your breath and skin after using DMSO. Product is expansive and may leak through the applicator once product is opened, which is normal.

For external use only. Store in cool and dry place. Keep away from strong light and heat. Do not use if seal is broken. Keep out of reach of minors.

INGREDIENTS Medicinal ingredients: DMSO (methyl sulfoxide 99.9%) 90% Other ingredient: Purified water (10%).

DRAFT New Roots Heavy Metal Detox

The components of New Roots Heavy Metal Detox are N-acetylcysteine (NAC), Vitamin C, and DL‑alpha‑Lipoic acid:

N‑Acetylcysteine (NAC) inhibits the reabsorption of heavy metals into tissue and organs, and chelates heavy metals (Joshi, 2012) and chemicals, including denaturing and removing graphene oxide, protecting against lead toxicity (Flora, 2004), protecting from acetaminophen toxicity, and treating lung damage caused by the inhalation of airborne chemicals and cigarette smoke.

NAC is a powerful antioxidant in it’s own right, and as the acetylated (better absorbed, more efficient and effective) form of the amino acid cysteine, it can be used with glutamine as part of the biochemical pathway to synthesize glutathione, one of the most important and powerful antioxidants which is created right inside our own bodies (Flora, 2004).

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid)

Just like NAC, vitamin C is itself an antioxidant, and is also involved in the body’s synthesis of the antioxidant glutathione. A major function of vitamin C is to keep glutathione, l‑cysteine, and N‑acetylcysteine in reduced form so that they can continue to have their powerful free radical–quenching effects. Studies have shown that dietary vitamin C can reduce mercury concentrations especially in liver and kidney tissues through urinary excretion (Moniruzzaman, 2021). And besides mercury, researchers have also pointed to the protective effects of vitamin C against lead and cadmium (Lee, 2016).

DL‑alpha‑Lipoic acid

Alpha lipoic acid (the DL simply refers to this bioavailable form) is a valuable antioxidant because, unlike vitamin C which is only water-soluble, it is both water- AND fat-soluble (Li, 2021), so can exert its protective and healing effects on a wider range of tissues throughout the body. It has been found to be a chelating agent for metal ions (Shao-yang Lv, 2022), can bind to lead, copper, and zinc, and can reduce the damage caused by cadmium, toxic forms of chromium and zinc (Li, 2021) (Nikolic, 2004).

DRAFT New Roots Quercetin

Quercetin is actually found in the brain and has effects in the nervous system as a neuroprotective agent and may play a role in preventing dementia and other neurological disorders (Babaei, 2018)(Vauzour, 2014). It also has cancer-protective actions (Dajas, 2012), and protective effects with regards to cardiovascular disease (Suganthy, 2016). Japanese researchers found an inverse relationship between blood levels of quercetin and LDL cholesterol, possibly explaining some of quercetin’s cardio-protective action (Arai et al., 2000). Another aspect may be related to quercetin’s affect on inflammation and allergic inflammation/ reaction, which it achieves by acting mainly on leukocytes (white blood cells) and targeting many intracellular signaling kinases and phosphatases, enzymes and membrane proteins (Chirumbolo, 2010). Its inflammation-modulating actions also translate into an anti-ageing effect (Chondrogianni, 2010).
Each capsule of New Roots Herbal’s Quercetin contains 500 mg of naturally sourced, potency-validated quercetin.

DIRECTIONS OF USE Adults: 1 to 2 capsules daily with food or as directed by your health-care practitioner. Consult a health-care practitioner for use beyond 12 weeks.

Boron

Boron is a trace element which influences the metabolism of nutrients (including calcium and magnesium) involved in the maintenance of strong bones and may play a role in hormone regulation. Known to nutritional professionals as the “calcium helper”, boron plays a vital role in bone health because it assists calcium absorption and utilization in the body. Boron may help prevent atherosclerosis, improve brain function and cognitive functioning, reduce HDL cholesterol, affect thyroid hormone levels, alleviate harmful effects of vitamin D, magnesium, and potassium deficiency in post menopausal bone loss, play a role in the prevention of osteoporosis, be of benefit in the treatment of arthritis, and prevent calcium loss in postmenopausal women.

Although no recommended dietary allowance (RDA) has been established for boron, the average daily intake is highly variable, having been estimated at between 0.5 and up to 10 mg per day, with 3 mg per day demonstrating useful benefits for bone health (Rondanelli, 2020). Boron is found in most tissues, but is concentrated in the bone, spleen, and thyroid, indicating boron’s functions in bone metabolism and suggesting a potential role for boron in hormone metabolism. Boron is found in relatively high levels in foods of plant origin, such as black beans, peaches, apricots, spinach, strawberries, apples, cantaloupe and tomatoes. Many of us do not get enough of these items in our diet and boron supplements can help. Meat and fish are poor dietary sources of boron.

Bone Health

An adult human has 206 bones, which are constantly being renewed and remodeled. Bones perform several important roles in the body. Bones form a framework that supports the body and protects soft organs. They are an essential part of movement because muscles attach here and the arrangement of bones determines the type of movement that can be done. Bones are important storehouses of minerals, including the major buffer, calcium. They also contain an inner core of marrow that produces blood.

Most people do not think about bone health until they are in their later years. This is a mistake because significant increases in bone density can only be made in childhood or early adulthood (up to age 30). For the remainder of our lives the goal is to maintain our bones.

Osteomalacia is an inadequacy of bone mineralization. There is a normal amount of bone but it is weak. Weight bearing bones may be deformed. Eating a well balanced diet that provides sufficient amounts of protein, calcium and trace minerals can rectify this problem.

Not just for bones…

Boron can help the body detoxify certain compounds – see Amandha Vollmer’s blog. It is essential for the integrity and function of cell walls and for the way signals are transmitted across membranes. Boron is distributed throughout the body, with the highest concentration in the parathyroid glands followed by bones and dental enamel. It is essential for healthy bone and joint function, regulating the absorption and metabolism of calcium, magnesium and phosphorus through its influence on the parathyroid glands. With this, boron is to the parathyroids what iodine is to the thyroid.

Boron deficiency causes the parathyroids to become overactive, releasing too much parathyroid hormone which raises the blood level of calcium by releasing calcium from bones and teeth. This then leads to arthritis, osteoporosis and tooth decay.

With advancing age, high blood levels of calcium lead to calcification of soft tissues causing muscle contractions and stiffness; calcification of endocrine glands, especially the pineal gland and the ovaries; arteriosclerosis; kidney stones and calcification of the kidneys, ultimately leading to kidney failure.

A “boosts testosterone” claim is based on a USDA study of boron-deprived postmenopausal women in which boron supplements increased testosterone levels. Serum testosterone levels in deficient postmenopausal women, however, are more than 10 times lower than those found in normal men and in strength athletes. There are no studies to suggest that boron supplementation alone will augment testosterone production or promote muscle growth in healthy men. In fact, a number of studies have shown no effect of boron supplements on serum testosterone in either men or women consuming a typical diet. Studies among bodybuilders have yielded similar “non-effects” of boron supplements on measures of lean body mass, body fat and strength.

Low boron diets have been associated with reduced testosterone levels and boron supplements have been shown to increase serum levels of testosterone in deficient postmenopausal women. This finding has spawned a number of boron supplements targeting athletes and body builders and touting the benefits of boron for boosting testosterone levels, strength and muscle mass. As part of a balanced multi-vitamin/mineral supplement, boron may have beneficial effects on maintaining adequate calcium and magnesium metabolism for optimal bone health. Athletes, if not deficient, looking to use boron supplements as an answer to increasing serum testosterone levels and improving muscle mass and strength should look elsewhere.

A review of animal and human research on boron yielded the following information, which points to a much more comprehensive view of boron.

Deficiency in boron has been shown to contribute to abnormal embryo development, decreased sperm count, ovarian deterioration, damage in reproductive function, decrease in electrical activity in the brain, suboptimal mineral metabolism, poor manual dexterity and impaired hand-eye coordination.

Boron supplementation was found to increase steroid hormone levels (testosterone) if deficient, increase bone growth and strength, and augment estrogen function. Therefore, boron may help prevent atherosclerosis, improve brain function and cognitive functioning, reduce HDL cholesterol, affect thyroid hormone levels, alleviate harmful effects of vitamin D, magnesium, and potassium deficiency in post menopausal bone loss, play a role in the prevention of osteoporosis, be of benefit in the treatment of arthritis, and prevent calcium loss in postmenopausal women.

In the form of borax (sodium borate), boron was shown to have a protective effect against on toxicity metabolism in animal studies (Alak, 2019).

Natren Felinedophilus Probiotic for Cats

The gel carrier that enrobes the probiotics was developed by a German veterinarian and consists of vegetable oil, Vitamin E, Vitamin A and selenium – no preservatives and nothing artificial! The gel (not the probiotics – those need to be refrigerated) is designed to be stable in temperatures up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit to protect the probiotic bacteria from the environment and from gastric juices.

This gel probiotic contains a special microorganism called Enterococcus faecium. E. faecium is monitored by a German government agency for safety, and is exclusively available in the Natren line of animal probiotics.

Natren has added their own unique Lactobacillus acidophilus NAS strain to this gel to give your cat a unique combination of the gel matrix and two beneficial bacteria. Natren uses only live bacteria super strains, chosen for their effectiveness in aiding digestion.

Most cats love the probiotic gel and some will even lick it off your fingers.

Microplastics: a new health risk that probiotics help address
Microplastics are tiny plastic particles measuring less than 5 millimeters in diameter. They come from various sources, including the breakdown of larger plastic debris and synthetic fibers shed from clothing, cosmetics, and industrial processes. Microplastics are commonly found in oceans, rivers, soil, (and therefore our food supply) and even the air. This is a new type of environmental pollutant, and awareness is increasing on their deleterious health effects, especially in regards to their effects on the reproductive system.

Research (see this article) has shown that exposure to polystyrene microplastics (PS-MPs) can cause significant changes to intestinal microbial structure: the abundance of lactobacillus (friendly gut bacteria) decreases, while the abundance of Prevotella (an anaerobic, opportunistic bacteria that’s potentially pathogenic if out of balance) increases. Additionally, exposure to PS-MPs can result in significant spermatogenic dysfunction and testicular inflammation.
However, probiotics supplementation helps inhibit the activation of IL-17A (interleukin 17A: a pro-inflammatory cytokine) signaling driven by gut microbes, thereby alleviating the inflammatory response, restoring favorable gut bacteria balance, and improving sperm quality decline caused by PS-MPs.

A small yummy connection

YUM ↔ YAM — Anahata, the heart chakra, is traditionally represented by a twelve-petaled lotus and associated with the seed mantra YAM (yam). YUM and YAM are not the same word, but the sound echo offers a fitting little connection to heart, nature and community.

A gentle synthesized meditation drone to accompany the spoken YAM mantra; not a traditional fixed chakra frequency.
