Description

Selenite is named after the Greek word for moon, contrary to popular belief, it contains no significant selenium. Satin Spar selenite is a form of fibrous and crystallized gypsum. Other varieties include alabaster, selenite, desert rose and gypsum flower, gypsum rock, ram horn and sand gypsum. It is common to refer to satin spar as selenite. As a healing stone, this mineral is commonly used to charge or cleanse crystals. It is said to help regenerate the cellular structure and has been used to correct skeletal disorders and to promote flexibility. Selenite also provides clarity of mind, expanding awareness.

Lepidolite – is from the mica group of minerals. It is a pink to purple silicate. From the Greek word, lepidos, meaning scale which alludes to the scaly appearance usually common to the mineral. As a healing stone it clears electromagnetic pollution. This stone insists on being for the highest good. It balances the heart with the mind. Lepidolite is also known as a stability stone.

Peacock ore – This colourful copper ore is composed of copper iron sulfide in the form of chalcopyrite and bornite. The tarnishing process, which created the multiple colors, has been induced by treatment in acid. Peacock ore is found in Mexico, USA and Canada. Its colours are related to the quantities of iron (red), copper (blue-green) and gold coloured pyrite and galena.
